[In the Economics course] I really found gaps in my knowledge which I was able to fill, and improve on my own understanding.
Cynthia H (2021) - MLC School 45/45
I think going through specific techniques for each text type (poetry, prose) really helped me group the techniques in a more organised and effective way.
Alannah C (2021) - MLC School
I found very valuable in the English course the powerpoint which had information on the criteria for assessments, as well as tips on how to do well
Felix O (2021) - Newington College
The English L&L tutor was knowledgeable in the subject I undertook and gave us many real IB past exam questions which were extremely helpful and relevant.
William L - (2021) Westbourne College
I liked how the the tutor was really open to any questions and was able to explain the content carefully. She was able to give tips on how we might study during the IB programme, which is helpful.
Sarah T (2021) - Westbourne College
I found useful in the Year 12 Chemistry course through the practice papers and stepping through the answers (and also some really helpful exam technique)
Kambala Student (2021)
The Year 11 English Literature course was helpful toward understanding how to structure a response and write insightful analysis. The instruction on how to annotate texts was also very good, as annotation is something I personally find overwhelming.
Selena R (2021) - MLC School
Through the Year 11 Physics course, I got to learn a lot of content that would have taken school a long time to get to. The course was also condensed so that i was learning new ideas frequently.
MLC Student (2020)
I definitely feel more confident about the Biology content now - my tutor was better than my school teacher! Also the diagrams my tutor drew made so much more sense than my teacher's so I'll definitely be studying with the worksheet she gave us.
Georgina O (2021) - Kambala
Everything about the Chemistry course was helpful- how individualised and student driven the direction of the course was. 10/10 would recommend to other students.
Redlands Student (2021)
Thank fo your your holiday courses last holidays! I got a 7 in the dreaded chemistry. I found very useful the past paper practice we did - specifically Paper 2.
Denis A (2021) - Newington College
Strive45 holiday sessions are extremely helpful in consolidating the theory behind your subjects, I personally did them for Chemistry, Maths and English. The most helpful aspect of them was having a tutor who has experience in doing the exam and performing well in them as they could share their personal tips and tricks in tackling the exam. It was particularly useful when the tutor demonstrated how they approach and answer an exam question as I could change my approach to achieve better results.

Tianka P (2021) - MLC School
I liked how thorough my Chemistry tutor was in explaining the content as well as the use of both physical and digital devices to complete the course work. I also liked how efficiently we went through the work!
Sarah T (2022) - Westbourne College
The aspects of the Biology course IÂ found most useful were the detailed explanation of diagrams. This allowed to fully understand how to show my knowledge during an exam situation.
Monica F (2022) - IES College
My tutor explained each topic in thorough detail and guided us clearly through each step in solving practice questions, as well as consistently highlighting important points throughout each of the concepts and always making sure each student was on track with the material. The high level of interactions between students and the tutor was also extremely beneficial.
Linda L (2022) - Kambala
I loved the tutors advice, tips and the easy way of explaining concepts, especially if they were hard. I liked how if you didn't understand, the tutor wouldn't mind going back and answering questions.
Vani A (2022) - Kambala
In the Chemistry course, I found the overview of the three topics and the study tips for the course extremely helpful, I think it was super valuable to familiarise myself with the chemistry course etc.
Queenwood Student (2022)
I found it so helpful to go through all the notes again and haven them explained slightly differently in the Business Management course. It allowed me to have more clarity on the content and have a look into new content that will be covered this year, so that I have a head start!
Kate C (2022) - St Andrew's Cathedral School
I found working with examples helpful as well as learning the techniques in the English course.
St Paul's Grammar School Student (2022)
Everything in the Bio course was very useful and will be beneficial for the upcoming year.
Maya L (2022) - Redlands
I found valuable being exposed to the exam style questions that I will be seeing a lot of in the future. Being able to get personal advice from someone who has just completed the course, therefore getting insights and effective tips, was helpful.
Sebastian G (2022) - Redlands
I found the Binomial Theorem and Functions lessons the most useful, because I was weakest in those topic areas and found them the most difficult to grasp.
Ravenswood Student (2022)
The knowledge of past students, different methods and approaches to questions and tasks, a collective and engaging setting and helpful tutors was extremely valuable.
Trinity Student (2022)
I found the information given in the Psychology course to be extremely useful, as it helped expand my knowledge prior to entering year 11. I also thought that the case study analysis done in class was helpful so that I would be able to apply this knowledge when analysing case studies and reports in the future.
Santa Sabina Student (2022)
I really liked how everything was explained thoroughly with a lot of examples and analogies to make the heavy content more understandable and easier to remember. The organised powerpoint was also really easy to follow and good for note-taking. Practising answering questions was also helpful to get an idea of how to answer questions. .
Chloe J (2022) - MLC
I think the English course was structured super well. I found it super beneficial that we were able to briefly go through some notes for the different text types (ie poetry, prose, drama) before looking at an example and annotating it together. I found it tricky to come up with my own ideas and extract the main points so talking through it was definitely very helpful. It was also amazing that we were given time to write responses for each text after going through analysis of it, and then getting feedback and seeing an exemplar.
Julia Z (2022) - Westbourne College
I really like the in depth method for the exam and the direct feedback from my tutor. The techniques were also quite helpful and allowed me to write a more in-depth analysis.
Liv B (2022) - St Andrew's Cathedral School
Going through the structure of an essay + what to include (audience, context, purpose) was extremely valuable
Allegra S (2022) - Westbourne College
The L&L course was well structured and touched on all the elements of writing a successful paper 1. I found the exemplars and the tutor-led essay plans very helpful as well.
